Cute Bug 1) Big Eyed Caterpillar

Caterpillars don't look for trouble, they just want to eat (and eat, and eat) in peace. Unfortunately, their mania for munching makes them more meal-like day by day in the eyes of predators. One solution some species of caterpillars evolved is displaying oversized eye spots that give the chubby chompers the appearance of snakes. People don't (usually) eat caterpillars, of course, so to us the pastel orange beastie above tends instead to resemble a sad-eyed puppy right out of Japanese anime. معرفی سایت حشرات ایران

آقای مهندس سید محمد تقوی اهرمی کارشناس ارشد گیاه پزشکی در طول 10 سال به شناسایی و عکس برداری از انواع حشرات ایران پرداخته و حاصل کار خود را در این سایت ارائه می‌دهد. هدف این وبلاگ معرفی گونه‌های متنوع حشرات مناطق مختلف ایران است. انگیزه‌ی ایشان از این کار تنها علاقه به محیط زیست به خصوص به حشرات بوده است، همچنان که خودشان نیز اذعان داشته‌اند خالی از ایراد نیست و کمک و همراهی علاقه‌مندان محیط زیست می‌تواند پشتوانه‌ی بسیار خوبی برای ادامه‌ی فعالیت‌هایشان باشد.

تصاویر موجود در این سایت را شخصاً عکس برداری و شناسایی نموده و تصاویر متعلق به هیچ منبع داخلی و خارجی نمی‌باشند، لذا استفاده از آن‌ها تنها با ذکر نام ایشان مجاز است.

سوسک‌ها، زنبورها و مگس‌های مناطق مختلف ایران، که تا به حال شناسایی شده‌اند معرفی می‌گردند، و تلاش بر آن خواهد بود تا به مرور گونه‌های جدید شناسایی و به مجموعه اضافه گردد.

گزارش تصویری: دنیای شش‌ضلعی زنبور عسل

دانش  - رزلین فیشر: اولین‌بار که از دریچه میکروسکوپ الکترونی به چشمان یک زنبورعسل نگاه کردم، از تماشای ساختاری شش‌ضلعی که شبیه معماری کندوهای طبیعی بود، حیرت‌زده شدم.
می‌خواستم بدانم این شش‌ضلعی‌ها تصادفی هستند یا سرنخ‌هایی از یک زندگی تماشایی به‌شمار می‌روند؟
به عبارت بهتر به پاسخ این پرسش برسم که آیا میان ساختار شش‌ضلعی چشم‌های زنبورعسل با محیطی که پیرامون خود خلق می‌کند، رابطه‌ معنی‌داری وجود دارد؟
استفاده از یک میکروسکوپ الکترونی روبشی و بررسی ریخت‌شناسی زنبورعسل می‌توانست کمک بزرگی باشد.
این تلاش شناختی و بصری در نهایت به تهیه 60 تصویر با بزرگ‌نمایی حداکثر 5‌هزار برابر از این حشره و کتابی به نام زنبورعسل منتهی شد.
شما هم می‌توانید در خلال این تصاویر به بررسی ساختار و فرم پیچیده‌ای بپردازید که برای خلق یک زنبور کوچک به کار گرفته شده است.
راستی می‌دانستید زنبورها هم مفصل زانو دارند؟

خارهای تعبیه‌شده روی نیش (بزرگ‌نمایی 650‌برابر)

نیش در زنبورعسل، شکل اصلاح‌شده اندام تخم‌ریزی است، زنبور ملکه از این اندام برای تخم‌ریزی استفاده می‌کند. یک زنبورعسل تنها زمان دفاع از خود یا کندو از نیش استفاده خواهد کرد. در صورتی که زنبور، انسان یا سایر پستانداران را نیش بزند، خارهای روی این اندام در پوست جاندار قلاب می‌شوند و تقلای زنبور برای آزادی باعث مرگ این حشره خواهد شد.

This spotted swordtail I shot near Vihar Lake, SGNP-Mumbai.
During the hot season of summer, when the B.flies gather for mud puddling, this beauty was seen sitting at the same place for quite long time. But, while sucking the minerals from the dump soil, it was discharging a kind of liquid from its vent. That is the query I have, along with proposing it as the photo of the year.

2008 was a great year for me as far as shooting of butterflies is concerned as I made it to Duars Butterfly meet with lots of new species along with coming to Hyderabad on transfer & exploring many new areas. It was a year when I really took to shooting of Butterflies.
Seen here is Tiny Grass Blue (Zizula gaika) with Preying Mantis on Croton bonplandianus in Hyderabad, AP on 13/9/08. What's interesting I couldn't see the Preying Mantis even though taking many shots. I realised it only after I saw it on my computer. Preying Mantis is yet to be identified.

Common Rose
Taken at Baghmara in Meghalaya. I was in Meghalaya with Krushnamegh Kunte. And i was so excited to got opportunity to go with him. And it was first morning of our trip and we got this beauty along the road. the light was really marvelous so was the back ground. And both of us got splendid shots of this common but very beautifull butterfly.

Marbled Map
This was taken in the same trip. We were in the Balpakram Tiger Reserve in Meghalaya. We were walking along the stream. And Krushnamegha suddenly shouted Marbled Map. At first i was not aware what he was talking about. But after few seconds i saw one Marbled Map mudpuddling. We were trying to photograph that but it was not settling at one place. It was flying here and there as if it was teasing us. On one occasion it settled some steps ahead of us. Krushnamgh was aout to take photograph when i moved my feet unaware of fact it would fly. and it did. Krushnamegh was bit angry on me as that was prized catch for him also. He had not photographed it till that date.He didnt say many words but he just screamed Rohaaaaaaaaannnnn. I was upset a bit after that. And i was preying in my mind please god give us second chance.. And He did exactly that. We got splendid shots on same day. Krushnamegh was so hapy after that and me too. I think Krushnamegh had posted images of the same in August

در دنياي وحش اتفاقات نادري رخ مي دهد كه عموماً بدليل در دسترس نبودن عكاس،لحظاتي باورنكردني ثبت نمي شود ولي اينبار گونه خاصي از عنكوبتهاي بومي اقيانوسيه در استراليا(Golden Orb Weaver) پرنده اي از گونه فنچ را در تارهاي محكم و طويل خود اسير كرده و طعمه خود ساخته است،به گزارش زيست بوم شناسان استراليايي اين گونه عنكبوت معمولاً به اندازه كف دست يك انسان بالغ رشد مي كند ولي نمونه هايي در شمال استراليا با ابعاد بزرگتر هم گزارش شده اند ، شكار و خوردن پرنده از رفتارهاي نادر براي اين نوع عنكبوت به شمار مي رود.لينك
