The Seventh International Symposium on Molecular Insect Science will once again be held in Amsterdam from 13 – 16 July, 2014.

Following the great success of the previous conference in 2011, which sold out, this conference promises to be an essential gathering for researchers and students in molecular insect science.

فسيل حشره 250 (520?) ميليون ساله

دانشمندان موفق به كشف حشره اي عنکبوت آبی 250 520 ميليون ساله شده اند كه نشان مي دهد داراي سيستم عصبي پيچيده اي بوده است. 

    به عقيده محققان، اين فسيل جزو اجداد عنكبوت ها و عقرب ها و ديگر حشرات تكامل يافته است. فسيل 250 520 ميليون ساله نشان مي دهد دهان عنكبوت هاي امروزي در گذر زمان تكامل يافته و براي جويدن استفاده مي شود. در اين فسيل نيز زائده اي در قسمت دهاني يافت شده كه همان دهان امروزي محسوب مي شود.محققان مي گويند با اسكن دندان هاي اين فسيل توانسته اند سيستم عصبي وي را علاوه بر ديگر ساختارهاي پيچيده آن بيابند. جانور از خانواده بندپايان، سخت پوستان و هزارپاها نيز بوده است. اين فسيل در دوران كهن در دريا و اقيانوس ها نيزشنا مي كرده و به دوره كامبرين باز مي گردد. برخي خرچنگ هاي دريايي نيز از گونه هاي تكامل يافته آن هستند. آن ها دهاني انبري شكل داشته و مانند عنكبوت ها سم را به شكار وارد مي كردند. زائده نزديك سر همچون دهان عمل مي كرده است. دانشمندان معتقدند فسيل مذكور مربوط به گروهي از بندپايان دريايي منقرض شده است. پروفسور نيك استروس فلد از دانشگاه آريزونا از علوم اعصاب مي گويد: در حال حاضر پس از اسكن و تجزيه و تحليل هاي انجام شده متوجه شديم سيستم عصبي مركزي فسيل آن زمان شبيه خرچنگ هاي دريايي و عقرب هاي نعل اسبي امروزه است. اين به اين معني است كه اين فسيل هم مي تواند از اجداد عنكبوت ها و هم خرچنگ ها محسوب شود كه طي گذر زمان تغيير شكل هاي جالبي يافته است. 12 جفت از زائده بدن آنها، توانايي شناكردن و خزيدن را به حيوان مي داده است.در ناحيه سر حيوان يك جفت اندام زائده اي بلند و قيچي مانند ديده مي شود كه براي مقاصد حسي از آن استفاده مي شده است. اعصاب مغز به اندام هاي زائده اي پيام مي فرستاده است. وي افزود: تكنيك هاي پردازشي و تجزيه و تحليل ها ذخاير آهن را در اين سيستم نشان مي دهد.
